Life Only Agents (LO)  and/or Accident and Health (AH) Agents Continuing Education Requirements:

For Life Only Agents and/or Accident and Health Agents, a minimum of 24 approved credit hours is required every two-year renewal term.

-          Of those 24 hours, at least four hours of ethics continuing education must be completed every license term. 

-          If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of annuities, they must take the 8 hour Annuities course during their two-year term. After the 8 hour course has been satisfied, the licensee must take the 4 hour Annuities Training course during each two-year term.

-          If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of long-term care (LTC) insurance, they must also take the 8 hour LTC course during each two-year term.

Fire & Casualty Agents (FX) Continuing Education Requirements:

For Fire and Casualty Broker-Agent for agents who have been licensed for less than four years, a minimum of 50 approved credit hours is required every two-year renewal term.

-          Of those 50 hours, at least four hours of ethics continuing education must be completed every license term. 

-          If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of long-term care (LTC) insurance, they must also take the 8 hour LTC course during each two-year term.

For Fire and Casualty Broker-Agent for agents who have been licensed for more than four years, a minimum of 24 approved credit hours is required every two-year renewal term.

-          Of those 24 hours, at least four hours of ethics continuing education must be completed every license term. 

-          If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of long-term care (LTC) insurance, they must also take the 8 hour LTC course during each two-year term.

For Dual License Holders:

For Fire and Casualty Broker-Agents and Life Agents (Life Only Agents and/or Accident and Health Agents) with dual license holders, the CE requirement goes to the individual, not to each license held. The CE requirement can be met by taking courses approved for either license type.

How to Enroll in Our Correspondence/Home Study CE Program

You can either register over the phone or in person. When you register for a course, you will be given study materials and quizzes, which can be completed at the convenience of your own home or at our school. Upon completion of your studies, just simply return the completed answer sheets back to us. If you do not pass, you may retake the course once with a different final exam, at no additional charge. After successful completion of the course, we will send you a certificate of completion and report out your CE credits directly to the state. All you need to do is pay your renewal fee to the Department of Insurance!
