Real Estate Salespersons Continuing
Education Requirements
 | Licenses are issued for a four-year period and
should be renewed prior to the expiration date listed on the license.

| Real estate salespersons renewing an
original license for the first time must complete five separate three-hour DRE-approved continuing education
courses in
Ethics, Agency, Trust Fund
Handling, Fair Housing, and Risk Management. |
| For subsequent renewals, all real estate salespersons must complete 45
clock hours of DRE-approved continuing education consisting of:
 | One six-hour survey
course that covers the five
mandatory subjects (Ethics, Agency, Trust Fund Handling, Fair Housing, and
Risk Management); |
| At least 18 clock hours of consumer protection
courses; and |
| The remaining 21 clock hours in either consumer
service or consumer protection courses. |

courses; and |
| The remaining 21

How to Enroll in Our
Correspondence/Home Study CE Program
| You can either register over the phone or
in person. |
| When you register for a course, you will be
given study materials and quizzes (for the consumer protection courses), which
can be completed at the convenience of your own home or at our school.
|
| Upon completion of your studies, just
simply return the completed quiz answer sheet and schedule a date and time for
taking the final examination. The final can either take the final at our
school, or they may request a proctor to administer the examination. Please
call us for more information on using a proctor. |
| If you do not pass, you may retake the
course once with a different final exam, at no charge. |
| After successful completion of the course,
we will send you a certificate of completion. All you need to do is take care
of your renewal fee with the Department of Real Estate! |
